Terms of Service
These terms apply when you use CTO (the token coach for Claude Code), the CTO connector, or tokencoach.dev. CTO is made by Token Coach, the trading name of an independent developer based in India ("we", "us"). By installing CTO, signing in to the connector or buying a subscription, you agree to these terms. Our privacy policy explains what data we handle, and our refund policy explains refunds.
What CTO is
CTO has two parts:
- The plugin runs on your own computer inside Claude Code. It measures your usage from Claude Code's local logs and gives advice: which techniques are worth it for a task, whether your plan fits your usage, and a pause before steps that cannot be undone. The plugin is free.
- The connector (Pro) is a hosted service you sign in to from Claude, ChatGPT, Codex and other clients. It is a paid subscription.
The software licence
The plugin's source code is published under the Elastic License 2.0, included with the code. In short, you may use, copy and modify it, but you may not offer it to others as a hosted or managed service. If the licence and these terms ever disagree about the plugin's code, the licence wins.
Advice, not a guarantee
CTO's advice is informational. It can be wrong, and you decide whether to act on it. CTO acts on your behalf only after you say yes. We do not guarantee any saving in cost or time. CTO is not financial advice, and plan recommendations are not an offer from Anthropic, OpenAI or any other provider.
Not affiliated with Anthropic or OpenAI
CTO is an independent product. It works with Claude Code and other AI tools but is not made by, affiliated with, or endorsed by Anthropic or OpenAI. Your use of their products stays governed by their own terms.
Your account
To use the connector you sign in with an email address. Keep your sign-in details to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your account. One subscription is for one person. Tell us at hello@tokencoach.dev if you think someone else has access.
Subscriptions and payment
Pro is sold through our merchant of record, a payment company that is the seller to you, handles payment and sales tax, and whose terms of sale also apply. We will name it on this page when Pro opens. Subscriptions renew automatically, monthly or yearly depending on the plan you choose, until you cancel. You can cancel at any time; Pro stays active until the end of the period you paid for. Prices may change; we will tell subscribers at least 30 days before a change affects their next payment.
Acceptable use
Do not use CTO, the connector or the website to break the law, to attack, overload or probe our systems or anyone else's, to resell or share access to the connector, or to get around usage limits or the licence. We may suspend an account that does, and will tell you why.
Changes and availability
We work to keep the connector available but cannot promise it will never be down. We may change or remove features. If we stop offering Pro, we will tell subscribers at least 30 days ahead and refund the unused part of any prepaid period. If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will update the date above and tell subscribers by email before the change applies.
Ending
You can stop using CTO at any time: cancel your subscription and uninstall the plugin (/token-coach:settings uninstall removes everything CTO added). We may end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms.
Disclaimer and liability
CTO is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, as far as the law allows. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be excluded.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim in its courts. Before going to court, please email us; most problems are solved by a reply.
